History: 2000-Present

At the turn of the millennium, the Big Tesuque Trail Run was preparing for its 16th annual siege on Aspen Vista, and trail/mountain races were beginning to spring up all over the country. Below are the results and summaries of the race from the year 2000 through to today:

Dustin Martin - New men's champion

Debut entrant Dustin Martin of Albuquerque sent the climb and widened his lead on the chase pack during the descent, claiming his first Big T  title in 1:24:22. Colorado's Jake Swift hung tight for second, and relative unknown Lucas Fuentes of Santa Fe grabbed the third podium spot with a quick 1:27:07 effort.

In a repeat of the men's race, debut runner Katie Gillen of Santa Fe stormed to victory over the women's field, stopping the clock for her first Big T title in 1:43:18. Albuquerque's Claudia Bergshon ran to a massive age-group record and second overall in 1:51:55, and Santa Fe's Erin Sindewald nailed down third place with her first Big T podium in a solid 1:53:05.

The 2012 field was the largest in its twenty eight year history.

October 1, 2011 - Full Results

Professional road racer Bernard Langat came up for a workout and bested the field by 5+ minutes. Santa Fe local Joachim Marjon dialed the descent to grab second, and two time champ Mike Ehrmantraut of Santa Fe shadowed close behind for third.

On the women's side, former champ and course record holder Rachael Cuellar of Albuquerque ran off to victory by over 10 minutes. Crazy fast. Stefanie Tierney of Albuquerque ran a stellar race of her own for second, followed by Whitney Dreier of Santa Fe in third.
